Lake County Commission recap, week ending April 10, 2026

This week the Lake County Board of County Commissioners:

Approved a rezoning of about 1.75 acres of the Capurso Property from Agriculture to Planned Commercial so it can allow automotive repair and vehicular sales.

Approved rezoning about 7.33 acres from Agriculture to Community Facility District for a 320-foot communications tower at Orange Mountain Public Safety Tower.

Approved a change to the Greater Groves planned development rules to add language for enforcing parking regulations for certain specified vehicles.

Denied a rezoning for Crescent Pines to change about 40 acres from Urban Residential to a planned development for a residential subdivision of 79 units.

Denied authorization for the County Attorney to sign a settlement agreement with KB Home Orlando, LLC to end a land-use lawsuit against Lake County.

- In plain words: A settlement agreement to end a land-use lawsuit by developer KB Home Orlando, LLC against Lake County over a denied rezoning application for about 40 acres. Nothing changes yet because the Board denied the item; the settlement and the underlying rezoning remain unresolved. - Where: Log House Road. Why, in staff's words: "The Developer will revise its PUDPlanned Unit Development: a custom zoning written for one project, with its own rules for lot sizes, uses and open space, instead of a standard zoning district.
