The Lake County Commission agenda lists the items the Board of County Commissioners will consider at each meeting. Learning to read the agenda helps you understand what the commission is doing and where to find backup material.
Agendas and meeting packets are posted on the CivicClerk meetings portal. You can subscribe on the portal to receive notifications when a new agenda is published.
Based on recent postings, agendas are typically available several days before the meeting. The Nov 3, 2026 agenda was posted on Oct 26, 2026. The Oct 27, 2026 agenda was posted on Oct 23, 2026.
The agenda notes that commissioners may add items up to 4 days before the meeting and may remove items at any time.
Each meeting has two related documents:
A regular Lake County Commission agenda follows a standard order:
1. Agenda Update 2. Minutes Approval 3. Citizen Question and Comment Period 4. Presentation of Proclamations 5. Clerk of Court's Consent Agenda 6. Consent Agenda (grouped by department) 7. Public Hearings 8. Annexation Report 9. Public Hearings: Rezonings (separate agenda) 10. Reports (County Attorney, County Manager) 11. Commissioner Reports
There is no section labeled "Regular Agenda." Items are organized into these numbered sections.
Each agenda item is labeled with a tab number. For example, "Tab 3" refers to the third item on the agenda. The Board Action report uses the same tab numbers, so you can match agenda items to the commission's decisions.
Each agenda item includes a fiscal impact statement. The statement reads something like: "The fiscal impact is $6,394,516.88 (expenditure)." Some items state: "The fiscal impact can not be determined at this time."
Each item also lists which Commission District it affects. This helps you understand which parts of the county are impacted.
The agenda includes this notice: "The County Commission reserves the right to move any Agenda item to an earlier time during the day as its schedule permits, except in the case of items and appointments that have been advertised in a newspaper for a specific time."
Items advertised for a specific time cannot be moved earlier. Other items may be reordered during the meeting.
Every agenda includes a notice about Section 286.0105 of the Florida Statutes. This notice informs the public that any person may request a verbatim record of the meeting.
After the meeting, the commission posts a Board Action report. This document lists the decisions made on each agenda item but does not include vote tallies.
Board Minutes are posted later, usually within a few weeks. The minutes include vote tallies, attendance, and a detailed record of the meeting.
Both the Board Action report and Board Minutes are available on the Municode MuniDocs page. You can also find the portal linked from the Board of County Commissioners Meetings page.
